Iconic Hanover Fair in Germany may meet its match in Amaravati in near future. Abu Dhabi-based NMC Healthcare and UAE Exchange Group has come forward to build India’s biggest convention centre with international standards in AP’s upcoming capital.
Group’s executive vice-chairman and chief executive officer Bavaguthu Raghuram Shetty, popularly known as B R Shetty in industry circles, gave this commitment to chief minister Chandrababu Naidu. Shetty promised to complete the project by 2018 if the state government allots `suitable’ land. The mega project, estimated to cost Rs 12,000 crore, will have a convention centre with a capacity to accommodate 10,000 people, an exhibition centre, a fivestar hotel and an amusement park. The five-star hotel will be built in a grand manner to attract the foreign visitors, Shetty said adding the convention centre will have all the facilities to host international exhibitions.
