Andhra Pradesh airports improve on customer satisfaction, says AAI survey

All the four operational airports in Andhra Pradesh have registered an improvement in customer satisfaction index as per the survey conducted by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) during the July-December 2015 period.

While none of the four airports in AP figure among the top 10 airports under AAI, the Visakhapatnam airport has been ranked 14 out of 49 airports, whereas Rajahmundry is ranked 33, Tirupati is at 37 and Vijayawada is ranked at 40. As per the survey, Raipur Airport ranks first followed by Chandigarh, Udaipur, Bhubaneswar and Mangalore.

The customer satisfaction index calculated twice a year has shown that the city airport has jumped from the 30th place in the survey conducted in January-July 2015, to the 14th rank in the July-December 2015 survey.

Similarly, Rajahmundry airport has retained its 33rd rank in the two surveys, while Tirupati airport has improved from the 40th rank in January-July 2015 to the 37th rank in the second half of 2015. However, Vijayawada irport has dropped a place from being 39th in the first half of 2015 to 40th rank in the second half of the year.

The customer satisfaction index rated on a scale of five points has also shown that the Visakhaaptnam airport has registered the second best performance after Dibrugarh airport during the second half of 2015. The city airport, which had registered 4.20 points out of 5 in the first half of 2015, scored 4.59 in the second half of the same year.
