Industry proposals pick up pace in AP !! Even if half of them fructify, “Made in AP” will be a reality !!

  • According to sources, during the three hour meeting, Zodiac clothing CEO Suresh Noorani expressed his company’s plans to develop a national production centre that will cater to the needs of all the company outlets in the country . Naidu suggested that the centre may be located in Rayalaseema due to its proximity to both Chennai and Bangalore.
  • Jairaj Steel Corporation has proposed to set up an integrated steel plant at Orvakallu near Kurnool in Rayalaseema and wanted a firm water supply allotment from the government. The company expressed its readiness to invest Rs 3,000 crore for the project, if the government gives assurances on water supply.
  • Representatives of Andhra Glass manufacturing company proposed to invest Rs 800 crore in the state and set up a building glass manufacturing unit in coastal Andhra.
  • Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani came up with an investment proposal to set up a golf course in Vijayawada.

Meanwhile Eenadu reports that about 250 Japanese companies are willing to be part of a Japanese cluster which is expected to come up near Krishnapanam and Sri City. Though the number looks big, the fact is that even if 25 companies come up, it will be big booster and a magnet for further industrialization.
